South Central Power Company has immediate openings for Journeyman Line Workers at our Lancaster and Hillsboro locations. The successful candidate will have satisfactorily completed a recognized apprenticeship program and be able to perform all classes of overhead and underground distribution work on energized and de-energized lines.

Responsibilities include all types of work involved with the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities, which includes substations.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a high school degree or equivalent
  • Must be classified as a Journeyman in the electrical field
  • Maintain a Class A CDL
  • Successfully pass a background check, drug/alcohol test and a physical and knowledge based pre-hire assessment

The awarded candidate will be required to live within 25 miles of the facility within the first 6 months of employment and is required to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for scheduled or unscheduled assignments. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package.

South Central Power Company has an immediate opening for a temporary Warehouse Worker at our Circleville office.

Responsibilities include providing a full range of services related to the maintenance of the warehouse and inventory. Duties will include items such as maintaining garage and pole yard cleanliness, operating a fork lift and other equipment to unload delivery trucks, stocking inventory, loading equipment, and pulling material for workers. This position will also assist with paperwork and computer processes associated with inventory controls. Please be aware that this position is temporary and will run no longer than six months.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required, with at least one year’s experience in a related field.
  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of a personal computer and must be knowledgeable in operating equipment such as a forklift.
  • Candidates must maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes.
  • Good customer services skills and a positive attitude are required.

South Central Power Company has an immediate opening for a Business Analyst at our Lancaster office.

Responsibilities include assisting business units in the analysis, justification and development of proposals for sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. The successful candidate will act as the facilitator for all process improvement teams and will be responsible for the documentation of the resulting processes.

Therefore, the successful applicant must be highly self-motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Candidates must be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner as well as be experienced working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and have the ability to train others.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of five years’ experience in business management and process administration with a broad knowledge of the electric utility industry.
  • Candidates must have strong project management, training and strategic planning skills.
  • A working knowledge of the cooperative model is preferred.

South Central Power Company has an immediate opening at our Lancaster office for an Electrical Engineer focused in the area of SCADA.

SCADA Responsibilities include planning, design, implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance and training for a growing utility system. The successful applicant must be self-directed, have the ability to communicate in a highly technical environment and have the desire to be part of a team-oriented work force.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science is required.
  • Experience or educational discipline in SCADA, power systems, control systems and PLC design, HMI or  communication theory is preferred.

South Central Power Company is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Director of Member Services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the cooperative’s member service strategies by defining the organizational structure, processes, metrics and procedures needed to fulfill the vision of improved member satisfaction scores.  The cooperative’s member service function is spread across the corporate headquarters in Lancaster, Ohio and 4 district offices.  The position would report to the headquarters office with frequent travel to district offices required.  A staff of five reports directly to this position with an additional 30 indirect reports fulfilling front-line member service responsibilities on a day-to-day basis.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and leadership skills are a must for this position.
  • Candidates should hold an associate’s degree in business administration or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of practical application of skills is required with at least four of those years in direct supervision.
  • Experience in a utility or related organization is preferred.
