South Central Power is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Key Accounts Manager.

The objective of this position is to develop and coordinate the cooperative’s Key Accounts program to maximize opportunities for mutually successful business relationships. Our Key Accounts program includes member loads equal to or greater than 1 MW, either individually or in the aggregate, and other loads identified by the cooperative. It is designed to assure the coordination and implementation of products and services that help Key Accounts succeed. The program involves all aspects of Key Account development from initial contact during the “business attraction” stage of community economic development efforts through service construction and account start up to discontinuation of service.

We are looking for an experienced manager who will develop strong connections to ensure membership satisfaction. Responsibilities include load analysis, contract and rate development, monitoring industry trends, and supporting and evaluating staff. The position would report to the VP of Member Service at the Lancaster office with occasional travel to four district offices. Direct reports include our Key Accounts representatives.


  • An associates degree in business or related field is required. Experience working in economic development, energy services or key accounts in an electric utility or related organization can be substituted for a degree.
  • At least seven years of practical application of skills is required with three of the seven years being in a supervisory or management position.
  • May be required to produce a portfolio of work to display proficiency.
  • Experience in a utility or related organization is preferred.

South Central Power is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Desktop Administrator.

The Desktop Administrator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the IT desktop and workstation infrastructure. This includes hardware and software, maintaining and supporting the existing active directory environment, as well as providing first level support, as directed, within the IT Core Server Systems infrastructure.  This individual will assist in developing maintenance planning, upgrades and future planning for end-user workstations and systems.  Responsibilities also include following industry standard best practices as defined by IT leadership, and monitoring user-centric systems and requests, such as service desk tickets, while adhering to organizational values, security standards, and defined policies and procedures.  The individual will be responsible for troubleshooting complex, multi-layered technical issues while working closely with IT Operations personnel and leadership.

Applicants should have working knowledge of workstation and server level hardware and technologies and be proficient in Windows Operating Systems currently supported by Microsoft as well as active directory, group policy, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Office 2013/2016/365. We are looking for candidates with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various levels of management, end users and vendors in a friendly, encouraging and thoughtful manner. Applicants should possess strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.  Accurate and comprehensive documentation skills are required. The position would report to the IT systems supervisor at the Lancaster office. This position does require occasional travel to our four district offices.


  • A bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum of five years’ experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
  • A minimum of two years hands-on experience in IT workstation administration or user support including a working knowledge of user troubleshooting techniques is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of workstation and server level hardware and technologies. Applicants should be proficient in Windows Operating Systems currently supported by Microsoft, active directory, group policy, Microsoft exchange, and Microsoft office 2013/2016/365.  Any level of knowledge and experience with the following technologies is a plus:  VMWare virtualization software, HP and Xerox Printers and Copiers, Dell & HP systems hardware, Service Desk software, Microsoft Visio, VMWare Airwatch, SmartDeploy Desktop Imaging or other third-party desktop imaging software.

South Central Power Company has an immediate opening for a Journeyman Line Worker at our Lancaster, Ohio location. The successful candidate will have satisfactorily completed a recognized apprenticeship program and be able to perform all classes of overhead and underground distribution work on energized and de-energized lines.

South Central Power is an electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Lancaster, Ohio, with additional offices across the state. South Central Power serves approximately 115,000 customers and owns and maintains 11,600 miles of distribution line and 256 miles of 69 kV transmission line. The cooperative operates six 138 kV to 69 kV delivery points as well as 70 substations and delivery points. South Central Power serves residential and a wide range of commercial and industrial customers in very rural areas of south central and eastern Ohio as well as suburban areas south and southeast of Columbus.

Responsibilities include all types of work involved with the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities, which includes substations.


  • Must possess a high school degree or equivalent
  • Must be classified as a Journeyman in the electrical field
  • Maintain a Class A CDL
  • Successfully pass a background check, drug/alcohol test and a physical and knowledge based pre-hire assessment

The awarded candidate will be required to live within 25 miles of the facility within the first 6 months of employment and is required to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for scheduled or unscheduled assignments. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package.
