South Central Power Company has an immediate opening for a Journeyman Line Worker at our Lancaster, Ohio location. The successful candidate will have satisfactorily completed a recognized apprenticeship program and be able to perform all classes of overhead and underground distribution work on energized and de-energized lines.

South Central Power is an electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Lancaster, Ohio, with additional offices across the state. South Central Power serves approximately 115,000 customers and owns and maintains 11,600 miles of distribution line and 256 miles of 69 kV transmission line. The cooperative operates six 138 kV to 69 kV delivery points as well as 70 substations and delivery points. South Central Power serves residential and a wide range of commercial and industrial customers in very rural areas of south central and eastern Ohio as well as suburban areas south and southeast of Columbus.

Responsibilities include all types of work involved with the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities, which includes substations.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a high school degree or equivalent
  • Must be classified as a Journeyman in the electrical field
  • Maintain a Class A CDL
  • Successfully pass a background check, drug/alcohol test and a physical and knowledge based pre-hire assessment

The awarded candidate will be required to live within 25 miles of the facility within the first 6 months of employment and is required to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for scheduled or unscheduled assignments. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package.

South Central Power Company is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Strategy Execution & Continuous Improvement Manager at our Lancaster office.

This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific initiatives and other projects involving inter and intra departmental teams ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. The position is also responsible for the Cooperative’s continuous improvement program, which involves the identifying, analyzing, documenting and improving the company’s business processes in support of the company’s strategic goals and objectives. The successful candidate will execute ongoing and ad hoc analyses and special projects designed to support the planning, development and execution of the cooperative’s strategic initiatives.

We are looking for an experienced manager who has demonstrated knowledge of process management techniques and strong analytical capabilities. Candidates should be able to work under critical deadlines, be able to work on multiple projects concurrently, and interpret and translate data. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and facilitate process improvement teams, while engaging all levels of employees is required. The position would report to the Chief Financial Officer. Direct reports include our business analysts.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required. Certification in project management is preferred.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution is required. Formal training and experience in process improvement techniques, project management and technical documentation is preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years’ work experience in a related field is required. Two years of supervisory experience is required.
  • May be required to produce a portfolio of work to display proficiency.
  • Experience in a utility or related organization is preferred.

South Central Power Company has an immediate opening for a Member Services Representative at our Lancaster, Ohio location. Candidates who have strong customer service experience are encouraged to apply.

The position is responsible for ensuring member satisfaction by performing clerical tasks requiring detailed analysis and sound judgment. This position maintains accurate member account information and will communicate with members in person and over the phone regarding billing, collections, capital credits and other inquiries.

We are looking for an experienced individual who is self-motivated, organized and handles situations with tact and poise. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, effective problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal skills. This is position reports directly to our Member Services Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required. Post-secondary education in business administration equivalent to an associates degree is preferred.
  • Two years of customer service experience is required. Experience with handling cash is required.
  • Candidates must have strong communication skills. Must have basic knowledge of the operation of office equipment, including computers, calculators, fax machines and copiers. Must have the ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and efficiently and must be proficient on a 10-key calculator and accurately type at least 40 words per minute.
