Members may convert a Prepay account to post-paid account at any time, provided there is a credit balance on the account.
An adequate security deposit may be required. Service terminated at the request of the member will receive a refund of any remaining credit on the account.
Yes! You can switch to a Prepay account even if you already have service with South Central Power. Existing accounts are eligible to switch to Prepay service once all balances, including past due, current bill, current months usage up to the date of switching to Prepay service, and any other charges or fees on the account are paid in full.
Any deposit on your post-paid account may be applied to a Prepay account.
If payment is made after normal business hours, reconnection of service is not guaranteed until the next business day and is subject to fees listed in South Central Power’s Schedule of Miscellaneous Charges.
If funds in your account fall to $0, your electric service will be automatically disconnected. Holidays, weekends, and inclement weather, including extreme heat or cold, will not postpone or prevent termination of electric service.
You will be notified by phone, email and/or text message that your service has been disconnected.
Once your outstanding balance plus the minimum payment of $5 is made, your service will be reconnected usually within minutes. There may be situations where reconnection can take longer.
If your account goes below $25, you’ll receive an phone, email or text message letting you know that you are below that balance and that you should load more money on your account.
You can check your balance and load funds on your account via the South Central app, My Account on our website or via the automated payment system at 800-282-5064.
You also may reload funds at one of our three offices during regular business hours – Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. You also can make cash payments at retail locations near you via VanillaDirect.
To ensure continuity of service, South Central Power encourages Prepay users to deposit as much as is comfortable and within your means. This also helps avoid more frequent monitoring and management of usage / account balance.
