Easy to understand explanations about your electric or security system bill

Electric residential

Members with electric residential service receive this type of bill.

Outage reporting number

If we cannot detect the telephone number you’re calling from and/or we cannot match the phone number with one in our member database, you will be asked for your outage reporting number. Keep this number handy when reporting an outage.

Usage info

  • Previous and Present Read: The reading on your meter at the beginning and end of your billing cycle.
  • Multiplier: Converts the differences in the previous and present read to kilowatt hours (kWh).
  • KWH Used: The amount of electricity used in a billing cycle.
  • Demand Read: The reading used to calculate the maximum electric load in a billing cycle.
  • KW Used: The kilowatt demand established during the billing cycle. There is no charge for this on residential bills.

Account activity since last bill

  • Balance As of Last Billing: The amount of previous bill.
  • Adjustments: A credit or debit on your account since your last statement.
  • Payments: Payments applied since the last statement.
  • Balance Forward: Balance going forward into the current billing period.

Current charges

  • Consumer Charge: The monthly fee charged each member for costs associated with the equipment at the account location and services performed to maintain the account.
  • Distribution Charge: The cost to distribute power to a member’s location is derived by multiplying the number of kilowatt hours used by the per kilowatt hour rate listed in the applicable rate schedule.
  • Generation & Transmission Charge: The result of multiplying the number of kilowatt hours used by the current per kilowatt hour charge from Buckeye Power to generate and transmit power to South Central. The per kilowatt hour charge changes monthly based on factors such as the cost of fuel and environmental controls as well as demand on the system.
  • Rider A Adjustment: The sum of taxes due the State of Ohio and any other adjustments from the application of Rider A.
  • Co-Op Owners for Political Action: Voluntary donations from members who have joined NRECA’s political action committee.
  • Operation Round Up: Voluntary donations used to support scholarships, community projects, charitable organizations, etc.

Budget info

  • Budget Charges: The total amount of budget charges for the budget year.
  • Budget Payments: The total amount of budget payments for the budget year.
  • Budget Amount: The amount due for this billing cycle.
  • Month: The current billing month of the 12 budget billing months. The settle-up bill will be in billing month 12.

Account info

  • Account Number: A unique numeric member account identifier.
  • Meter Number: Identifies the meter at the service location.
  • Service ID: Location or description of service.

Billing period

  • Billing Period: The beginning and end of your billing period.
  • Days in Period: The number of days in your billing period.

Important message

  • Important Message: Notifies you of important messages about your account.

Amount due & due date

  • Amount Due: The total amount that you now owe.
  • Due Date: After this date, your account will be past due.

Change of address

  • Change of Address: Lets you notify us of an address change.

Where to send payment

  • Remittance Address: Please send payment to this address.

Consumers with a security system receive this type of bill.

Important messages

  • Notifies you of important messages about your account.

Monitoring numbers

  • Reference number that Wright-Hennepin assigns to accounts referring to the receiver which takes the alarm call.

Account number

  • A unique numeric customer account identifier.

Consumer address

  • The site address that we have on file for you.

Service dates

  • The beginning and ending dates covered by the current invoice.

Bill details

  • Previous Balance: The amount of previous bill.
  • Adjustments: A credit or debit on your account since your last statement.
  • Payments Received: Payments applied since the last statement.
  • Balance Forward: Balance going forward into the current billing period.
  • Standard Monitoring: The monthly fee for your security monitoring.
  • Sales Tax: Sales tax charged for the month. Tax is determined based on the county where the security system is located.

Total due

  • Total amount due including any outstanding previous balances.

Amount due & due date

  • Amount Due: The total amount that you now owe.
  • Due Date: After this date, your account will be past due.

Change of address

  • Lets you notify us of an address change.

Monthly variations in generation & transmission charges

The Generation and Transmission line item charge on electric bills is calculated by multiplying the number of kilowatt hours used by the current per kilowatt hour charge from Buckeye Power to generate and transmit power to South Central Power. The per kilowatt hour charge changes monthly based on factors such as the cost of fuel and environmental controls as well as demand on the system.
