It’s summer and that can mean high bills as we use more electricity to keep our homes cool. Even if you don’t change the thermostat, your usage may still go up. But you can help keep your bills steady if you start understanding your energy use by viewing the My Usage section on My Account on our website or the South Central app.
Getting started is easy! Navigate to My Account from the southcentralpower.com homepage or download the South Central app. Log in or create an account.
To create a new online account, you’ll need:
- Your account number (found on your bill)
- Your last name or business name
- An email address
View energy usage
Did you know that you can view your daily, monthly, or even hourly energy use? It’s easy — start by logging into your online account through My Account or the South Central app. Once you are logged in, click on “My Usage.”
Simply select a date range, and you can toggle between your daily and monthly usage as well as compare against other time frames. You can view with high, low, or average temperatures.
Reviewing your energy usage periodically can help you identify any anomalies on high bills, see what times your energy usage spikes or drops, and understand patterns over time or certain daily activities like laundry or cooking.
