Fire departments right here in Ohio are struggling to serve their communities safely because of a lack of adequate equipment and sufficient funding. Still, they show up whenever they’re called. South Central Power wanted to show our appreciation for these brave heroes by helping them purchase new equipment. With support from the CoBank Sharing Success program, our impact went even further, matching South Central Power’s $5,000 donation to provide a total of $10,000 each for three deserving fire departments.
Amanda Township Fire Dept.
The Amanda Township Fire Department has served the Village of Amanda, Amanda Township, and parts of Madison Township for more than a century. Dedicated to the community that relies on it in high-risk situations, the Amanda Township Fire Department is investing in a new fire pump for their grass truck. This vital piece of equipment is essential for keeping both firefighters and those they protect safe.
Camp Creek Volunteer Fire Dept.
Camp Creek Volunteer Fire Department is an all-volunteer organization that has served the community of Camp Creek Township and surrounding areas for more than 60 years. These brave volunteers have requested help to fund the construction of a carport-style structure to store essential equipment. This carport will improve the longevity of equipment and be a vital tool for safe and efficient responses to emergencies.
Beallsville Fire Dept.
Beallsville Fire Department is an organization run by 17 volunteer firefighters. They serve about 5,500 residents in the rural area along the Monroe/Belmont County line. With their donation, they plan to purchase a Master Control Kit full of lifesaving equipment. This new equipment will double the lifting capacity of their setup and provide a safer, more reliable means of lifting heavy vehicles and equipment during emergencies. With this equipment, they will be able to better help the community they are committed to serve.
