80th Annual meeting details
July 21, 2016
Community service project and free entertainment mark annual meeting activities this year
South Central Power invites members attending the annual meeting on August 18 to donate paper goods, diapers, household cleaners and personal care items for distribution by Lancaster-Fairfield County Charity Newsies.
Like South Central Power, the non-profit organization also is celebrating its 80th anniversary. Donated items from the annual meeting will become part of holiday food baskets Charity Newsies distributes to more than 300 families during the holiday season.
Leroy Van Dyke will entertain South Central Power’s annual meeting crowd, taking the stage at 1 p.m. He has recorded more than 500 songs during his illustrious career, but is best known for his hits “The Auctioneer” and “Walk On By.” He was a regular member of the Grand Ole Opry and also starred in the movie “What Am I Bid?” Van Dyke was the first entertainer to take a staged, produced and choreographed country music show to the Las Vegas strip.
He was inducted into the North American Country Music Association, International and the National Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame, a rare honor for someone who is not a full-time auctioneer.
Please join us at the August 18 annual meeting — between the business, meeting, the philanthropy and the entertainment, it’s bound to be a good time!
