Changes to disconnect payment practice

Effective July 1, 2017, South Central Power will no longer accept electric service payments in the field, including on the premises of a service disconnection.

As a result, if a member is scheduled for service disconnection for nonpayment, South Central Power employees will not accept payment of any kind when they arrive to disconnect the power.

If a member’s electric service is disconnected for nonpayment, the entire bill (including all fees, charges and deposits) must be paid and posted to the account by 7 p.m. Monday through Friday to be reconnected on the same day.

Payments made between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. will incur an additional after-hours reconnection fee.  Read about payment options.

Electric service reconnections will be made on the next business day for payments made after 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, on Saturday and Sunday, or on South Central Power-recognized holidays.

In addition, there are changes to the Schedule of Miscellaneous Charges for service disconnection and reconnection that are effective July 1, 2017.
