Statewide group honors South Central Power for support of local schools

South Central Power recently received the Friend of Education Award from the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Central Region.

Nominated for the award by the Fairfield County ESC, South Central Power was honored during the Ohio School Boards Association Central Region Fall Conference in Columbus on September 27. The region presents the Friend of Public Education Award to community members with a significant record of supporting public education.

In nominating South Central Power, the Fairfield County ESC Board of Education wrote, in part: “South Central’s “Operation Round Up” funded 40 grant awards from 67 applications received in the first quarter. Collectively, the community and educational groups were awarded more the $118,500 by the South Central Power Company Foundation. This generosity supports scholarships and innovative programs in the Lancaster and surrounding areas.”
