Streaming and My Bundle FAQs
Streaming TV, or “streaming” for short means watching movies and TV shows over the internet instead of using satellite or cable. You can stream live TV shows or you can watch them whenever you want (this is called “on-demand”).
Cutting the cord is a way of saying you’re ending your cable or satellite TV subscription. If you have a high-speed fiber internet connection, you can easily stream the shows and programs you want to watch. No cable cord is needed.
You can stream programs with a smart TV or you can plug in a streaming device into an older TV.
A smart TV can connect to the internet, just like a smartphone or tablet. And, just like smartphones and tablets, smart TVs use apps to access different types of content like TV shows and other programs.
Some apps are already installed on the TV while others need to be downloaded from an app store. Different TVs will have different apps already installed.
Even if you don’t have a smart TV, you can stream the programs you want by plugging a streaming device into an older TV.
Common streaming devices are Roku, Amazon Fire Stick and Google Chromecast. You can also watch these shows through your smartphone, tablet, and laptop.
